A renowned microfinance training centre in Italy will welcome representatives from five Pacific Island countries.
The Central Banks in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu will send high level representatives to the Boulder Institute of Microfinance training in Turin next week.
Iosefo Bourne, the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Samoa, says he wants to bring microfinance opportunities to more people in his country.
"We're trying to strengthen the link from what we do on the macro economy on monetary policy and interest rates and try to make sure the benefits of these policies flow down to the people in the grassroots the low income people. And that's where microfinance comes in so we have to learn about it it's a new area for us," he said.
